Now, the following reference is not here ’cause I am discriminating MS as company, rather to show that Vista indeed is incomplete product as an OS and cause of marketing power behind Vista, it can and will survive. At the end it is our, end users, decision what to use (you know what I use).

Brian Boyco has written an extensive review of his experience with Vista. He came to the following conclusion after using it for 30 days:

Based on my personal experiences with Vista over a 30 day period, I found it to be a dangerously unstable operating system, which has caused me to lose data. The 64-bit version is slightly better (which, frankly, surprised the hell out of us and makes us wonder if Microsoft didn’t make a mistake in choosing to only distribute Home Premium 32-bit in the retail channel), but it still has stability problems.

Any consideration of the fine details comes in second to that one inescapable conclusion. This is an unstable operating system.

I really did want to like Vista. Yes, it is possible to enjoy both Windows and Linux - but unfortunately this product is unfit for any user. I still intend to keep a Windows XP partition on my computer for gaming and some multimedia editing, but as of the time of this publication, I have removed Vista entirely.

And then I see at the end of the article a note from Editor-in-Chief - the boss. He decided to add some magic words to the conclusions that Brian came to:

The fact is that Vista is far from “unfit for any user,” and this statement

by the author is simply incorrect. If you read the discussion thread linked below you will find there are many Vista users that are having positive experiences. The author’s experiences are his own and I think a great look into just some of the complications that can come with upgrading to Vista. Some have had worse experiences and some have had better. -Kyle

Nice Kyle …. the question in my mind that first came up was why “the boss” decided to kick-in and put such a note in an article that is clear and concise and explains all the views of an author … perhaps “the boss” should have taken down the whole article. I’ll leave this up to readers to decide what could have been the reasons.

To Brian: Thanks for the article and your true opinions.

To Kyle: I agree with Brian and also after trying out Vista switched back to XP - for gaming purpose only …. and if you wanna be a good Editor-in-Chief, stop &^$#@ around. It is the first time I am seeing that Editor-in-Chief puts a contradicting note at the end of the article.

To Readers: I am just expressing my views on this, so forgive me if I sound rude. If you really want to switch from XP to Vista then at least wait for SP1.

P.S.>> Just as I was writing this post and telling a friend of mine that I am getting ready for the Formula 1 weekend, I got the following message from him (it wasn’t Vista though, but Windows is Windows):
